Much was made of John Kerry as a flip-flop, but John McCain puts the Massachusetts Senator to shame.
McCain is often lauded for his principled stances. At one of the 6,000 debates, he unequivocally denounced torture, while then-fellow candidate Mitt Romney wanted to double Gitmo.
NOW, McCain is backing Bush’s veto on a bill banning torture.
This isn’t the first time the Arizona Senator has switched or re-clarified positions. He co-sponsored an immigration bill that allowed amnesty. NOW, he focuses the immigration argument on border security. He has a moderate on social issues like the abortion issue. NOW, he says Roe v. Wade should be repealed.
So much for the “Straight Talk Express.”
