After seven years, the semi-conviction of Osama bin Laden’s taxi driver is the best the U.S administration can do in prosecuting the war on terror.
It was only a partial success for the administration because Salim Ahmed Hamdan was acquitted of the arguably most serious charge of conspiracy.
A Duluth TV station said Hamdan was found guilty, but that ignores the most serious charge. The parallel is reporting that a person was found innocent of murder, but was convicted of trespassing. Technically true, but ignorant of the most-important fact.
The bigger issue is that Hamdan could be set free later this year. His sentence was five and a 1/2 years, and he has been detained for five years.
Now that’s justice!
