The Gonzo Think Tank, in honor of Dr. Gonzo: Hunter S. Thompson, will begin a new weekly feature titled “Swine of the Week.”
Thompson, a.k.a. The Good Doctor, would unabashedly lambaste swine, mainly politicians, pederasts and pedestrians who would irk him.
The inaugural winner of the “Swine of the Week” (Drum roll please …) issss Andy Martin, the soulless coward who perpetrated the awful, racist rumor about Barack Obama being a Muslim.
Martin began the lie in 2004, and Fox News and FreeRepublic.com gave him an unquestioned soapbox to stand on.
“I feel sad having to expose Barack Obama.” Martin said in the accompanying 2004 news release. “But the man is a complete fraud. The truth is going to surprise, and disappoint, and outrage many people who were drawn to him. He has lied to the American people, and he has sought to misrepresent his own heritage. … Barack Obama Sr. was also a devoted Muslim, and also chose a Muslim name for his son, our own Barack Obama Jr. Again, his name was an Arabic and Koranic. … Obama has spent a lifetime running from his family heritage and religious heritage. Would his father have given his son a Koranic name if the father was not a devout Muslim?”
In Monday’s New York Times story, Martin distanced himself from the Obama-Muslim association.
“Everybody uses my research as a takeoff point,” Mr. Martin told The Times, adding, however, that some take his writings “and exaggerate them to suit their own fantasies.”
He passes the buck with The Times, but with Media Matters in March 2007, he shows less denial: “[Obama] is one of the most racist politicians in America today.”
As for his background, Martin said: “I’m a colorful person. There’s always somebody who has a legitimate cause in their mind to be angry with me.”
These “colorful” traits are just grandoise garble, which continues:
“[Obama has] locked the grandmother who actually raised him away in a closet,” … “[T]he ‘segregation’ of Madelyn Dunham, Obama’s white grandmother, and only real grandmother, has to be one of the cruelest and most mendacious political kidnappings this nation has ever seen.”
Nice job, Martin; You’ve set the bar for the “Swine of the Week” pretty high.
